My School


Victoria School (abbreviation VS) is an all-boys educational institution/high school that was established in 1876. The school was granted autonomous status in 1993. All classes in VS are in the Express or Special stream.
Victoria School currently stands at Siglap Link, about one kilometre from affliated Victoria Junior College. It is located beside the sea, with classrooms on upper levels having a panoramic sea view, and is a very short walk from East Coast Park.
Previous campuses of Victoria School include the Syed Alwi and Tyrwhitt Road sites. The Syed Alwi site is featured on the back of Singapore's S$2 banknote. The Tyrwhitt Road site was gazetted for conservation by the Urban Redevelopment Authority(URA) in 2007 and was awarded URA's Heritage Award in 2009.
VS attracts high-ability students from all socio-economic backgrounds and has produced many scholars, politicians, top civil servants, academics, senior military/police officers, corporate figures, and sportsmen. The list of Victoria School old boys includes three Presidents: Mr Yusof Ishak, Mr C.V. Devan Nair and Mr S.R. Nathan.
Victoria School is the brother school of Cedar Girls' Secondary School, which is an all-girls eduaction institution. VS is also affiliated with Cedar Girls' Secondary School. Victoria School is a Band 1 school, making it one of the top secondary schools in Singapore.
